Bhubaneshwari Primary School, Kabhrepalanchok
Bhimkhori-9, Harkapur:
One can reach after a short drive of 70 Kilometer
East from Kathmandu and walk up approx 1½
hour to this area. The people from this area are
depending on agriculture except few young people
that are escaped to the capital city Kathmandu
to find better opportunities. The nearest school
from this village and around is in a distance
of 1 ½ to 2 hour walking-distance to get
the primary
education for the children. The landscape is naturally

steep
and is very hard to walk safely for the small
children everyday. More difficult is the summer
time due to rain and landslides. So the villagers
have built a school by their own effort collecting
crops and small amount of money. They built the
school but they were unable to pay for the teacher
and the school was abandoned. We found the problem
and decided to continue the school so the poor
children could get their very first education
near by home without any risk of rain and landslides.

This
is an another school we are working on in the same region.
The problem here is bigger as this village have no school
yet and the situation of the small childrens is quite
similar like the village above. So we gather the villagers
and advice them to built a school so that we will help
them providing a teacher's salary each month afterwards.
They agreed and started the construction and will be
ready very soon. We are hoping that we can support these
poor communities in their kids education... |
